Our Wine and Cheese Pairing Concept

Les Petits Crus is a restaurant where you can enjoy wine and cheese pairings. We aim to make wine and cheese marriages accessible and fun for everyone. That’s why we’ve played matchmakers between quality and surprising products. We’ve created true couples and love-at-first-sight experiences for the ultimate pleasure of your taste buds!

And like any good French person, as true lovers of our regions, we only offer you wine and cheese pairings with raw milk cheeses, selected and aged by a Meilleur Ouvrier de France, and the majority of our wines are organic.

How Does a Wine and Cheese Pairing Work?

At Les Petits Crus, the tasting experience is simple, fun, and delicious.
You have two choices to make: the size of your tasting (4 or 6 pairings) and the type of cheeses you prefer (mild, creamy, strong…).

Then, we take care of everything: we create the pairings between raw milk cheeses, selected and aged by a Meilleur Ouvrier de France, and our mostly organic wines. To discover the pairings at your own pace and independently, your tasting will be accompanied by explanatory cards to guide you step by step!

Associés Les Petits Crus

Our Philosophy

Since 2016, our idea has remained the same: to offer wine and cheese pairings that are accessible, gourmet, and focused on discovery. To achieve this, we change our wine and cheese pairing selections approximately every three months, in order to follow the seasons and regularly introduce you to new products.

Our Products

We work with François Bourgon, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, who selects and ages the cheeses you enjoy in our establishments. On the wine side, we favor vintages from independent winemakers, chosen for their singularity and their perfect match with our cheeses.

Over the years, we have also created our own vintages in collaboration with winemakers, such as Mickaël located in Vaïssac or Romain, a winemaker near Bordeaux. These collaborations allow us to offer unique wines that create a surprise.

Our Story of Wine and Cheese Pairings

  • 2016: Once upon a time, Les Petits Crus…

It was in 2016 that Les Petits Crus was founded by Bertrand Castaing. His engineering school friend, Corentin Quemener, founder of Autres Vignes wine cellars, joined him to bring his expertise in oenology.

This is how the concept was born: Offering wine and cheese pairings with quality products in a wine bar atmosphere. A true experience that surprised the first epicureans…

  • 2018: François Bourgon joins the adventure!

Les Petits Crus partnered with François Bourgon, Meilleur Ouvrier Fromager de France, to upgrade and ensure consistent quality for the cheeses. François then took charge of selecting and aging the products. A fervent defender of raw milk and small producers, he plays with flavors to highlight exceptional cheeses in every wine and cheese pairing we offer.

And that’s how the brand opened in Toulouse in 2018!

  • 2020: Les Petits Crus becomes a franchise

In 2020, Les Petits Crus decided to open up to franchising. Charles was then the first franchisee to open his restaurant in Clermont-Ferrand in 2021, followed by Cédric who decided to set up in Bourges in 2022.

  • 2021: Arrival of Food Gaming

In 2021, Les Petits Crus decided to embrace “food gaming” and installed fun and accessible escape games on the themes of wine, chocolate, cheese, etc.

  • 2024: We set up in the capital of gastronomy

You can now enjoy, since early February 2024, wine and cheese pairings in Lyon, the capital of gastronomy!

  • 2025: After marrying wines and cheeses… we marry our customers

This year, you discovered a new event: The Perfect Pairing, a gourmet speed-dating event at Les Petits Crus. But 2025 is also marked by our 6th opening: in the city of Troyes in November!

  • 2026: What’s next?

In 2026, Les Petits Crus celebrates its 10th anniversary of wine and cheese marriage. And an anniversary is worth celebrating… Many events will mark this important year! 2026 is also marked by our 7th opening in April: in the wine capital of the world, Bordeaux.
